I think I’m going to throw up

Only two and a half hours until November 1st, and I’m still scrambling for a story! Yikes!

So far I have a couple of characters, a nun with a gun, a beautiful man who’s as dumb as he is gorgeous, a crazy ex-girlfriend (although I don’t have her back story yet), and an angry cocktail waitress who wants to find her widower father and fix their broken relationship.

The idea I had was based on a goofy parody of a romance novel my brother and I liked to sit around and add on to. But then I couldn’t figure out how to fit in a nun with a gun, so I turned it into a zombie story, but I’m just not feeling it.

Also, I’m not sure what I want to write to my 30 year old self and my 38 year old self (stuff on my list I figure I can check off fairly quick).

Tomorrow also starts no spending and no caffeine! Yikes!

Anyone reading this, suggestions for NaNoWriMo would be appreciated!

November Is Coming Up!

Only two more days until National Novel Writing Month kickoff! So excited and SOOOOO nervous! I have some ideas, but nothing is coming together, yet.

Oh, and November 1st, the kickoff day, is also the kickoff for my 1001 days thing, starting with “no spending money for a month,” “no cutting my hair for 1000 days,” “walking or running at least one mile every day for 1000 days,” “write one blog post every day for a month,” and “write a letter to myself to open in 1001 days.”

November will be quite busy. I love busy!

1001 Days

So I was stumbling on teh interwebz and I found the “Complete 101 Tasks in 1001 Days” site. Very interesting concept. Am I going to take the challenge? Heck yeah I’m taking the challenge!

Since I LOVE the first day of the month, I’m starting this project on Tuesday, November 1st, 2011, and will have an end date of Tuesday, July 29th, 2014.

When I finish my list, I will post it here. If you happen to have any ideas as to what I should include, let me know below!

… at the grocery store! Seriously, the store down the road (where I get my daily salted caramel mochas, a habit I need to quit!) had games and candy and best of all, it was free!

My older three decorated cookies…

…and played a “knock over the ghosts” game.

They played other games, including pumpkin (bean bag) toss, cookie stacking races, pin the nose on the Jack ‘O Lantern, a ring toss and a cupcake walk. Everyone left with some candy (my kids weren’t greedy like some of the other kids who grabbed handfuls of candy from the buckets), their cookies and a cupcake each.

It was fun and it was FREE!!

Oh, when I was helping the kids find costumes in the dress-up box, I found the cool hats my husband brought home from Afghanistan. No, I am not wearing it correctly!

(Note the drool spot on my shoulder! I have a teething baby!)

I Love Fabric Dye!

I am not a fan of faded denim, but my jeans fade long before I wear them out. I still wear them because it doesn’t make sense to throw out perfectly functioning clothing just because I don’t like the color. So I decided to grab a bottle of fabric dye.

I’m kicking myself for not taking a “before” picture, but you can see the “after” of a skirt I threw in the dye.

That skirt was an awesome thrift store find that I wear all the time, even now, two years after I bought it.

I admit I hoped the color would come out darker, but I didn’t follow directions exactly. The bottle said use one bottle for every two pounds of fabric, and I threw in a pair of my jeans, my skirt, one of older sons’ jeans, and my toddler’s shorts. I may wait a few weeks and dye again.

Since last night, I have been trying to figure out what else I can dye! It is such an easy way to refresh your wardrobe!

New camera, yay!

I broke my other camera a couple months ago, and I finally bought a new one, thanks to this blog. Why? Because people prefer blogs with lots of pictures. I can’t take blog pictures without a camera now, can I? At least that’s my justification for spending so much. Hopefully my awesome hubs doesn’t flip (I’m sure he won’t)! I will post relevant pics in future posts! Yay!

Um, So Blogger Sucks…

I have been maintaining two blogs through two different accounts. A couple weeks ago I decided to combine the two blogs into one, since I was tired of working on two. I imported the posts from blog #2 on to blog #1, and spent the rest of the time trying to get my monetizing stuff from #2 over to #1 as well. Finally, I got everything squared away and deleted #2 tonight. I went to write a new post on #1 only to discover that it had been disabled for violating a term of service…

My older blog got disabled for having the exact same content as my newer (now deleted) blog.

I got the smackdown for *gasp* IMPERSONATING MYSELF!

Months ago, I started this blog, but decided to stick with Blogger since it was connected to my email and Youtube accounts. Thanks to tonight’s debacle, I’m back here.

Please don’t let WordPress be a stupid as Blogger!
